Introduction
Elizabeth Gearhart: Welcome to "Real AI Use Cases: Business Owners Roundtable." I'm your host, Elizabeth Gearhart, joined by my co-host, Richard Gearhart. Today, we're discussing how various businesses are integrating AI into their daily operations.
Richard Gearhart: It’s great to be here. We’ve got a fantastic lineup of guests today who are going to share their firsthand experiences with AI.
Guest Use Cases
1. Jim Beach (JimBeach.com)
Identifying "Villains" and "Hypocrites": Jim used ChatGPT to rank celebrities based on their claimed environmental efforts versus their actual contributions. By comparing two lists—those who talk the most about the environment and those who are actively involved in conservation—he was able to identify discrepancies and label certain individuals as "liars" or "hypocrites".
Identifying Blind Spots: Jim also uses AI to analyze business and marketing plans to identify "bald blind spots" or areas that haven't been fully developed.
2. Joe Massa (PodtopiaNetwork.com)
Automation and Efficiency: Joe focuses on using AI for automation to eliminate "busy work". He has built systems that automate responses, email sequences, and form submissions, which then upload directly into his CRM.
Customizing LLMs: He emphasizes the importance of fine-tuning Large Language Models (LLMs) like Claude and ChatGPT to reflect a specific brand voice or act as a consultant rather than just a basic chatbot.
No-Code Tools: Joe uses tools like Make.com, Zapier, and N8N to connect various software suites (Google, Microsoft, Airtable, Slack) to create seamless automation flows.
3. Nikki Wake (ChapterTwoDating.app)
A Human-Centric Approach: Unlike the other guests, Nikki’s dating app for the over-50 demographic does not currently use AI. She believes that for her audience, human-to-human connection is paramount.
Scam Prevention: While she acknowledges that AI could potentially help screen profiles for scammers, she prefers a personal vetting process to ensure the safety and authenticity of her community.
AI in Profiles: Nikki notes a rise in users using AI to generate their dating profiles, which she finds often lacks authenticity and is easily detectable.
4. Richard Gearhart (Gearhart Law)
Scripting for File Management: Richard used ChatGPT to create a PowerShell script to clean up junk files and rename media files for his podcast, "Passage to Profit". This simple automation saves him approximately 30 minutes per show.
YouTube Content Creation: He also uses AI to generate initial drafts for YouTube video scripts, which he then rewrites to ensure they maintain his personal voice and expertise.
5. Elizabeth Gearhart (Gear Media Studios)
Presentation Preparation: Elizabeth used various LLMs (ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Perplexity) to help develop her presentation for the Podfest Expo.
Anticipating Questions: Following a tip from the Podfest organizers, she used ChatGPT to analyze her presentation and generate potential questions that the audience might ask, allowing her to be better prepared.
